College of Health Sciences Hosts “Nourish and Flourish” Nutrition Day

On February 26, 2025, Abu Dhabi University’s College of Health Sciences hosted the “Nourish and Flourish” Nutrition
Day at the Innovation Center. Led by Dr. Najla AlNassar, the event featured a range of activities, including a weight
loss challenge, free dietitian consultations, health screenings, and interactive booths managed by the Nutrition and
Dietetics team. Attendees participated in engaging contests like “Guess the Smoothie,” received on-site medical
assessments, and benefited from exclusive health service discounts. The event aimed to promote healthy living during
Ramadan and beyond, reinforcing the college’s commitment to community wellness and preventive care.

Premarital Testing Session Highlights the Importance of Informed Health
Decisions

In collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center (ADPHC), the College of Health Sciences at Abu Dhabi
University hosted an informative session on Premarital Testing on Monday, 12 May 2025, at the Innovation Center. The
event featured a keynote address by H.E. Dr. Omneyat Al Hajeri, Executive Director of ADPHC, who emphasized the
role of premarital screening in supporting Emirati couples to make well-informed decisions for a healthier future. The
session shed light on the significance of Premarital Genetic Screening in preventing inherited disorders and promoting
community health. Attendees had the opportunity to explore how this preventive measure supports national health
strategies and contributes to building stronger, healthier families across the UAE. In addition, a special thanks to Dr.
Sofyan Maghaydah Dean of College of Health Sciences and Dr. Nermin Eisa for their inspiring leadership.
