Environmental Health and Safety Awareness Session
On January 29, 2024, Abu Dhabi University’s College of Health Sciences hosted an awareness session led by Dr. Afaf
Hassan, Assistant Professor of Environmental Health and Safety. The session focused on promoting sustainable practices
and safety awareness within the university community. Dr. Hassan emphasized the importance of environmental health,
safety protocols, and the role of individual responsibility in fostering a safer, more sustainable campus environment.
Applied Research Open Day by Mubadala
The “AI-Powered Wellness App” project was selected to represent Abu Dhabi University at the Applied Research Open
Day by Mubadala on 29th October 2024. Developed by students from the College of Health Sciences and the College of
Engineering, the project reflects interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in healthcare. The team worked under
the guidance of Dr. Tania Tahtouh, Dr. Nermin Eissa, Dr. Najla Al Nassar, Dr. Sofyan Maghaydah, and Dr. Mohammed
Ghazal. The selection highlights the project’s potential impact and the university’s commitment to applied research
excellence.
