        Professional Certificate in Waste Management and Circular Economy, April 2025

        The Professional Certificate in Waste Management and Circular Economy was desgined by Dr. Hatem Abushammala
        to provide a comprehensive overview of waste management principles from a sustainable development perspective
        with a focus on municipal solid waste. It explored the technical, regulatory, economic, environmental, and public
        health aspects of waste handling, collection, transportation, separation, recycling, composting, and incineration.
        It also covered the design, construction, and management of landfills and the creation of energy and high-value
        materials from waste. It finally discussed the management and treatment of other waste streams such as medical
        & pharmaceutical, nuclear, electronic, and hazardous waste. It was conducted in April 2025 in Al-Ain campus and
        attended by 171 from Al-Ain community and the other emirates.























        Professional Certificate in Corporate Sustainability and ESG Strategies, May 2025


        This professional certificate program was offered in collaboration between Dr. Hatem Abushammala and Ms. Hanan
        Chaabi, CEO and Founder of Aridzone Sustainability, to equip professionals with the essential knowledge and practical
        tools to integrate sustainability into business strategy and operations. Delivered over three comprehensive modules in
        Al-Ain campus, the program focused on building a strong foundation in corporate sustainability and ESG, with practical
        insights tailored to the UAE context. Around 150 attended this certificate from Al-Ain community and other Emirates.
