CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE
A classroom environment is different from most social environments that a student may encounter in his
academic life. “WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME?” is a question most commonly asked by every student. Any class
will have students with a variety of personalities, passions, learning preferences, and levels of thought.
Such circumstances necessitate the creation of specific guidelines that must be scrupulously adhered to
by students in order to ensure the orderly operation of a class. “Classroom Etiquette” are the rules that
students must abide by in order to keep a positive learning atmosphere.
To mention but a few, coming to class on time, taking part in class activities, doing one’s homework,
submitting assignments on time, avoiding oral exchanges, not using one’s cellular phone during class, and
not leaving the classroom frequently will testify to the students’ seriousness in class, their esteem of the
faculty, and their sense of responsibility.
