Math Placement Test BACHELOR OF ARTS IN
The Math Placement Test (MPT) is designed to classify students according to their majors and Mathematical knowledge.
Students in different majors need to be placed in one of three Math courses - MTH 100 (Algebra), MTT 101 (Pre-calculus),
and MTT 102 (Calculus 1). EMSAT score classifies students according to their mathematical knowledge and it is the main MASS COMMUNICATION
method to place students in one of the three math courses. Students can optionally take the Math Placement Test (MPT)
as another placement criterion. The MPT consists of two parts, Part A which contains questions in MTH 100 (Algebra), and
Part B which contains questions in MTT 101 (Pre-calculus).
The test consists of two parts. Part A will include questions in algebra, which is equivalent to MTH100, and Part B will
include questions in pre-calculus, which is equivalent in MTT101.
Important Note:
A student will be allowed to take the test only once. The test will determine which math course a student is
eligible to take. The test is computerized and is available on (Blackboard.adu.ac.ae)
