Outstanding Doctoral Degree

Alumnus Dr. Sarah Al Hashimi
(DBA graduate)

Dr Sarah Al Hashimi chose to study three business degrees at ADU. “I’m a doctoral
degree graduate, an MBA graduate and a Bachelor degree graduate majoring in
finance from the College of Business the number one “#1” Business School in the
UAE”, she explains.

“My journey started in 2005, when I graduated from high school with an average
of 99.1%, being one of the top 10 outstanding students in the country. Back then,
I applied to more than one university, in the UAE and abroad, and I was delighted
to receive several offers. This was daunting at first, until my mother received a call
from ADU congratulating me to be one of the few, to be receiving an honorable
sponsorship offered by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan to
pursue my Bachelor Degree. Without hesitation we made the decision as a family
for me to pursue my education in the College of Business and to major in finance
with a minor in marketing.

During my Bachelor degree, I met the most supportive faculty who motivated
me and guided me to develop further in business knowledge and practice. I
remember every day, arriving at ADU at 9:00am and leaving at 9:00pm ensuring
that I attended my classes and volunteering in any department that required my
support, until ADU became my “2 home”. During my time I saw that the College

of Business was one of the few institutions that has received two international
accreditations - AACSB and EQUIS, which inspired me to stay and continue to
take my MBA degree. I have also recently graduated from my DBA program. ADU
today is one of the leading universities in the UAE and in the MENA region and the
College of Business is ranked #1. Proud to be an ADU Alumni”.

Dr. Sarah has also published a scholarly article in a top tier journal. Her Doctoral
superviserors were Professors Sherine Farook, Hossam Abu Elanain.
