our Alumni

Our Alumni continue to impress as they take their place in industry, government and the professions. In this
edition we present a snapshot of the ADU international industry engagement program, an international
Keynote address to our alumni, and we follow up on two of our outstanding alumni.

Industry Engagement Program (IEP)

The IEP connects ADU with international and regional industry partners as well as our alumni. Members
benefit from access to professional development sessions from ADU’s Smart Learning and Innovation
Centres as well as invitations to international faculty specialized seminars and guest speaker series. The
number of members who have attended these sessions has been significant and we encourage others to

International Alumni Address

In October 2022, the COB hosted Dr Joern Buehring at ADU where he presented
a workshop for alumni titled: Design Foresight and Futures Thinking Research
- Applications, Demonstrations, in the Strategic Decision-making context. Dr
Buehring, who is the Ignite Innovation program leader at the Hong Kong
Polytechnic University’s School of Design, spoke about developing organizational
capacity to anticipate and prepare for extreme uncertainty. The focus was on
bringing academia, designers, and business stakeholders together to develop
forward-looking solutions to emerging industry and societal challenges.
