Focus on internship

The Department of Biomedical Sciences had the pleasure to establish a strong and promising partnership
with Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center, the one and only stem cell center in Abu Dhabi that focuses on Stem
Cell therapy and regenerative medicine. Our medical & molecular genetics (MMG) students had the
chance to be trained over the period of 6 weeks under the supervision of highly knowledgeable and
skilled researchers in the field of Stem cells; they have learned how to isolate and culture stem cells,
how to label and purify them using flow cytometry and also how to visualize their properties under

We strongly believe that the internship component is an asset to every student that helps in putting his/
her theoretical knowledge into practice, while developing technical, social, and interpersonal skills in a
professional environment.
