        Spotlight on



        Laboratory Work























        Students within the Biomedical Sciences (BMS) and Molecular and Medical Genetics (MMG) programs
        work on molecular biology practical techniques, such as DNA isolation, PCR and Gel electrophoresis.
        In our CoHS state-of-the-art laboratories, they develop their scientific reasoning abilities and practical
        skills, improve their teamwork abilities, and increase their understanding of the nature of science.





















        Students of the Human Nutrition and Dietetics (HND) Program learn how to take body measurements
        such as wrist, waist, and hip circumferences as well as body composition with the latest InBody 770
        Machine at the renowned Nutrition Lab for the Assessment of Nutritional Status course.






















        HND students in the Quantity Foods course apply basic culinary techniques in the preparation of stocks,
        sauces, soups, meats/fish/poultry, sandwiches, salads, and pastry. Students also learn about food and
        kitchen safety and sanitation practices, nutrition and healthy menus and recipes, portion control, yield
        tests, recipe conversion and costing, and quality control.
