Reflections by Tutees

I believe in traditional learning method in the classroom.. While the globe is fighting
with COVID-19, being a freshman of COBA, very dejectedly I was fighting my own
separate battle of struggling and coping to understand the courses through
distance learning and using the blackboard. Trying to understand statistics and
other courses breaking away from the traditional interactive method, seemed
IMPOSSIBLE, and I was impatiently trying to find a way. By the grace of the Almighty,
one day the STT100 instructor Mr. Syed Salman introduced a tutor during the
virtual class session who demonstrated the ways to contact ASC !!! Literally, I felt
like my prayers were answered and with a trembling heart I immediately acted
upon it to book the first available tutor for my concerned course. Alhamdulillah, the
direction from Aqsa Gul, wonderful interaction with Sheimaa Magdi and fantastic
Shagufta Siffat
materials from the repository together made all things so easy for me. I am grateful
as everything now seems so easy. So for those who don’t believe in giving up, go to
the ASC!!!

All of students know that the explanation during the class is not every time enough, and sometimes you find
it difficult to understand the lectures. Therefore, at the ASC you can find some very helpful tutors. Also, ASC
assistance has helped me to keep my GPA high and do well in my courses and ask questions. In my opinion, there
are no excuses for lower marks as we have talented tutors who are always ready to support us in our studies.

Class Visits Were Worth It

Academic Tutors, Course Assistants, and Peer Tutors, have visited classes virtually in order to inform students
about the Academic Success Centre’s tutoring program. These class visits played a vital role in enhancing the ASC›s
publicity. In addition, they have encouraged students to be more confident and approach the tutors whenever
they need to clarify any of their doubts, whether they are technical or academic. Virtual class visits were one of
the many approaches that the ASC has been working on, in order to ensure that help and guidance are effectively
being offered to all students.
