Real World Cases

Every year our faculty engage with industry and government to develop real world cases that can
be used to provide practical context and meaning to the theoretical business concepts delivered
in our classes. Many of these cases are published internationally. In 2022, for example, eight COB
cases were published in international journals. These cases focus on finding solutions to industry
challanges and ranged from how hotel operators managed their businesses while hosting
COVID-19 patients, to the sustainable management of electronic waste. We are keen to hear from
businesses that would like to be profiled in one or more of our teaching cases. Please connect with

Community Engagement

As part of our commitment to the UAE community, each year we offer winter and spring camps for High
School students. This involves a series of workshops, exciting competitions and activities designed
to introduce students to business concepts and assist in developing entrepreneurial mindsets.
These camps are offered free of charge and in 2022/2023, they were attended by more than 1500
students. COB faculty provided three interconnected workshops: Kick Start your Business, delivered
(by Dr. Mohamed Nasaj), Making Meanings Your Mission and Vision, (by Dr. Ahmad Abualigah), Go-
To-Market Methods and Branding, (by Dr. Mohammed El Adly). Participants then put learning into
practice by engaging in teamwork, group presentations and projects. All students were presented
with participation certificate and prizes were awarded for the best three projects.
