MuACPA: Mubadala-Abu Dhabi University Collaborative Projects Awards

MuACPA -Mubadala-ADU collaborative project award for academic years 2023-24 were awarded to ten
faculty members including two from College of Health Sciences. The joint collaborative projects spread
over an academic year were completed in June 2024.

MuACPA research projects by CoHS faculty:

Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed research project “Nanocoated hybrid sheets for solar-driven interfacial photothermal
systems for low energy desalination, disinfection and energy applications” and Dr. Tania Tahtouh research
project “AI-Powered Wellness: Tailored Dietary Support for Chronic Disease Management” were well
appreciated.

World Class Distinguished Visiting Research Professor, Dr. Eyad Elkord,
joined CoHS to expand the University’s strategic vision towards collaborative
research projects

Professor Eyad Elkord has currently a Professor position with the Department of Biological
Sciences, College of Science, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Suzhou, China; and an
Honorary Professor position with University of Salford, UK. Before joining XJTLU, he was
a Professor of Immunology with the Department of Applied Biology, College of Science,
University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

Professor Elkord is a member of several highly regarded scientific societies and an editorial
board member for peer-reviewed international journals such as Frontiers in Immunology & Oncology (specialty Cancer
Immunity & Immunotherapy), BMC Cancer, Vaccines, Heliyon and Journal of Immunology Research. He is a reviewer
to many international journals and well-known funding agents, such as the UK Medical Research Council, European
Research Council, Dutch Research Council. Dr Elkord has more than 130 publications in peer-reviewed high-impact
international journals with more than 11500 citations and an h-index of 48 and M-index of 2.7. In recognition of his
research influence, Prof. Elkord has been named in Stanford University’s yearly and career global lists of the top 2% of
scientists for four consecutive years (2019-2022), achieving the position in the top 0.26% in the Immunology subfield.

Dr. Elkord recently joined Abu Dhabi University as a distinguished visiting research professor to initiate collaborative
research projects and publication with ADU CoHS faculty and students
