Students and alumni awards:
11th Undergraduate Research and Innovation Competition (UGRC) awards
2nd Prize holders: ADU Biomedical Sciences students, Ms. Dana Chiker, Ms. Aala Ahmed, Ms. Anum Aqeel,
Ms. Rameen Rizwan and Mr. Sulthan Mujeeb secured won second prize at the UGRC. The students were
supervised by Dr. Nermon Eissa.
Alumni in Focus
Ms. Khadija Shafique:
An alumni of the Molecular and Medical Genetics (MMG) program, Ms. Khadija Shafique is now pursuing
her “Masters in Genetic Counseling” at the UAE University. While talking about the MMG program, Ms.
Khadija quotes “Attending ADU MMG program was a transformative experience. The rigorous curriculum
and hands on training provided a solid foundation in genetics. Furthermore, internships at the Abu Dhabi
Stem Cell Center and the National Reference laboratory deepened my practical knowledge. I honed my
organizational and leadership skills by coordinating health awareness events and taking part in research
projects. My time at ADU thoroughly prepared me for a fulfilling career in this field”
