Students and alumni awards:
Abu Dhabi University 1st Biomedical Sciences and Genetics Symposium awards:

1st prize holders: ADU Biomedical Sciences students, Ms. Dana Chiker, Ms. Aala Ahmed, Ms. Anum Aqeel,
Ms. Rameen Rizwan and Mr. Sulthan Mujeeb secured first place at the poster presentation competition at
the 1st Biomedical Sciences and Genetics Symposium in Abu Dhabi University. The students worked under
the supervision of Dr. Nermin Eissa.

2nd prize holders: ADU biomedical Sciences alumni, Ms.Khadija Shafique, Ms. Ariba Naushad and Ms.
Fathima Hasnain secured second position for their poster titled, “Study of common disorders detected by
newborn screening and variations in prevalence for different Emirates: A cross-sectional study among UAE
population (2020-2022)”, at the 1st Biomedical Sciences and Genetics Symposium. The students worked
under the supervision of Dr. Joanne Sadiar
