Abu Dhabi University 1st Biomedical Sciences and Genetics Symposium awards:

3rd prize holders: ADU biomedical Sciences students, Ms. Ola Yassir, Ms. Logain Ahmed, Ms. Maryam
Bahadi, Ms. Amel Noushad, and Ms.Khatam Anwar were awarded 3rd place for their poster titled
“Prevalence and Molecular Characterization of MRSA among local and international students from Abu
Dhabi University” at Abu Dhabi University 1st Biomedical Sciences and Genetics Symposium. The students
worked under the supervision of Dr. Afsheen Raza

Students and alumni awards:
11th Undergraduate Research and Innovation Competition (UGRC) awards

Abu Dhabi University organized and hosted the 11th Undergraduate Research and Innovation Competition
(URIC) to promote scientific research being conducted in universities across the GCC and MENA region.
The competition aimed to showcase undergraduate scientific research, boost career prospects and foster
entrepreneurial mindsets in education, research, and innovation. More than 600 participants from 77
universities joined the event. Faculty mentors and students from the CoHS participated actively in the
competition and were successful in winning top places in various categories. Students from CoHS secured
first and second prizes at this highly competitive event.

1st Prize holders: Department of Environmental Health students, Ms Saydah Ahmed and Ms. Aya Yassine
won First Prize at the UGRC. The students were supervised by Dr. Hatem Abushammala.
