Focus on

Internships

The CoHS provides students with several internship opportunities, in winter and in summer. In these
internships, our students not only fulfill their degree requirement but also gain access to labs and facilities
in various professional organizations. Exposure to professionally run labs and facilities allow students to link
their academic knowledge to practical aspects and helps them familiarize with industry practices, current
trends, and the set of skills needed for their career success. Furthermore, it also facilitates networking
opportunities with professionals in the field that helps sharpen their communication, teamwork, problem-
solving, emotional intelligence and time management skills. Internships serve as vital component of CoHS
initiative to prepare students for a well-rounded education and enhancing their employability in their
chosen career path.

Several of the students from the department of Biomedical Sciences participated in Internships for a period
of 8 weeks, to gain professional observational experience and skills in Microbiology, Molecular biology,
Clinical Chemistry, Histopathology, Hematology, Immunology lab related techniques. Furthermore, several
students from the Environmental and Public health program completed their internships at the Disease
Prevention and Screening Center, DOH and Abu Dhabi Public Health Center.
