Center for Faculty Development and Learning Innovation conducted two Professional Devel-
opment Days: The Fall Faculty Professional Development Day: Faculty-Student Mentoring: Effec-
tive Mentoring Can Be Learned, not Taught and The Spring Faculty Professional Development Day:
Pedagogy Approaches and Assessment Practices.
During this period, the center successfully launched two comprehensive certificate programs:
The Art and Science of Teaching Professional Development Certificate and the AI-Enhanced
Teaching and Learning Professional Development Certificate. These programs were conducted
across both
Al Ain and Abu Dhabi
campuses, further solidify-
ing the center's dedication
to equipping educators with
essential tools for innovative
and impactful teaching prac-
tices.
The Center for Faculty
Development and Learning
Innovation also shared in-
valuable insights and practi-
cal tips with faculty members. Subjects such as Creating Welcoming Classrooms, The SMART Mod-
ule, Getting Ready for Your Final Exam, Grading the Final Exam Equitably and Efficiently...etc. The
center launched the first issue of its newsletter to showcase the knowledge, innovation, and
teaching insights of our faculty while promoting a space for sharing our expertise. Also, the center
is working on the International Conference on Education “Innovations in Teaching & Learning:
Pioneering Education's Future”: ADU_ICEDU2024 with the theme “Innovations in Teaching &
Learning: Charting Higher Education's Path Forward’ which will be conducted on 2nd October
2024. The center will launch the Center for Research in Pedagogical and Educational Innovation
and Transformation and the ADU Journal of Innovative Pedagogy and Educational Transformation
during the conference.
ADU CDLI celebrated Teachers’ International Day by distributing giveaways to all faculty mem-
bers.
The resounding success of the ADU Center for Faculty Development and Learning Innovation’s
Professional Development Programs is evident in the consistently high ratings received across
sessions, averaging an impressive 4.5 out of 5. This achievement attests to the program's efficacy
in delivering pertinent content, aligning with participants' diverse study profiles, achieving well-
defined objectives, maintaining an optimal pace, delivering high-caliber materials, and featuring
adept presenters utilizing impactful visual aids. The aspiration for continued learning and enrich-
ment was evidenced by the enthusiastic interest expressed by participants for follow-up work-
shops.
