Wellness and Emotional Wellbeing
Our student counsellor at the Al Ain campus is Ms.
Samah Abusniemah. She has been employed at ADU
for about 11 years, and she has a strong work ethic.
She worked in Spain before joining ADU, where she
graduated from the Complutense University of Ma-
drid with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psy-
chology.
Promoting emotional well-being, personal development, and intellectual progress is the primary
goal of counseling. Counseling aims to provide students on the Al Ain campus with an engaging
environment, ease their transition from high school to college, and support them throughout their
university experience to make it remarkable and unique. Counseling provides an exclusive setting
in ADU where students can focus on their own goals and express themselves in complete privacy.
Stress is a common part of life, and managing it effectively is key to maintaining mental health and
achieving a healthy work-life balance. Here are some tips to help you manage stress:
1. Determine the cause of the tension so that the issue can be resolved.
2. Keep up a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise, a balanced diet, and restful sleep.
3. Establish limits and practice saying no when you feel overburdened.
4. Set work priorities and divide more complex jobs into smaller, more doable ones.
5. Make realistic and attainable goals.
6. Employ relaxation and mindfulness practices.
7. Seek social support by speaking with loved ones
8. Encourage constructive thinking while confronting negative ideas.
9. Acquire the ability to detach, and schedule leisure and self-care activities.
10. Look for expert assistance.
Remember, everyone is different, so it may take some time to find what works best for you.
