When one graces the walls dated centuries ago, the echos of
ancient chants and gossip can be felt through your very
bones. The Nile River, which has seen good and bad days,
still flows with the same thrum as the blood in our veins.
“Like calls to like” is the only feeling that lingers through
every step taken in Egypt.
Under the scorching sun, you can almost feel the presence
left behind by Moses and his people.
Under the twinkling night sky, you can feel the caress of
wind that had caressed those before you. A soft touch like a
mother, the warm breeze of a father.
Visiting Egypt and its old lands brings back the faded
memories of the pharaohs that perished in that very sand.
Your heart, calm and panicked at the same time in hope of
seeing a glimmer of what life was like.
Your blood tugging you towards the longing of seeing where
Cleopatra rested, to feel the love she perished for. Wishing
her to see what life was like on her land now. Wanting to tell
her that Egypt still tugs on the hearts of many, the land still
alive in some shape or form. ■
