Last year’s Smart Learning Center

highlights:

The ADU SMART Learning Center conducted a series
of Professional Development (PD) programs from 2022
to 2023, aiming to enhance faculty skills and teaching
practices. The programs covered a variety of topics and
received feedback from participants. Different topics
were covered such as teaching and learning, Assessment,
Digitization and automation, Effective Communication,
Intelligent learning, Research, Student success …etc. The
center also offered the Assessment of Learning Professional
Development Certificate which was conducted in Al Ain
And Abu Dhabi Campuses.

Positive Aspects Across Sessions were Content relevance and clear objectives were
consistently appreciated, Knowledgeable and prepared presenters received high praise,
Visual aids, demos, and materials were effective and efficient and Interest was expressed in
attending follow-up workshops on various subjects.

The Professional Development (PD) sessions received consistently high ratings, with an overall
average rate of 4.5 out of 5. This indicates the program’s effectiveness in delivering valuable
content, addressing participants’ study profiles, achieving clear objectives, maintaining
a well-paced schedule, presenting high-quality materials, and featuring knowledgeable
presenters who utilize effective visual aids. The positive response is further demonstrated
by the strong interest expressed in attending follow-up workshops on similar subjects.

Mothy tips shared with faculty members on specific topics such as Tips for engaging students
in the first week of the classes, Rubric for Rubric, Exam Moderation, Enhancing Classroom
Practices, Classroom Assessment Techniques… etc.

Overall, the ADU SMART Learning Center’s Professional Development Programs were well-
received, with participants valuing relevant content, clear objectives, and knowledgeable
presenters. Suggestions focused on enhancing interactivity, practicality, and diversifying
topics.
