                              Teacher explains what the model is and gives several examples

                              Practice – Gradual release*
         Practice 1
                              After the lecture, students will practice using the model to understand the
                              «place» of various languages globally. They will start with guided practice from

                              the teacher and then work independently, focusing on the place of English in
                              the UAE and the UAE›s position in the Three Circles.

                              Experience-sharing
                              Students are invited to share their language learning experiences and the
                              teaching and learning strategies that worked well for them.
         Presentation 3
         5 mins AL            Analysis of concepts
                              The teacher posts three words on the wall: approach, method, and technique.
                              In pairs, students receive slips of paper with examples of each and must place
         7 mins AL            them under the correct heading. The teacher listens to their reasoning but
                              does not provide the correct answers yet.

                              Lecture
                              Teacher explains the difference between the three concepts and gives
                              examples. CCQs are used throughout.

                              Revisiting and reshaping knowledge
         Practice 2           Students revisit their examples of approaches, methods, and techniques on
                              the wall and make necessary corrections based on the lecture. The teacher
         8 mins AL            listens to their reasoning and provides justifications for any additional
                              corrections.

                              Connecting knowledge gained with real examples
                              As a whole class, students will watch a -10minute video of a real class on
         Practice 3           YouTube. Afterward, in groups of four, they will guess which methods
                              from the wall activity are present in the lesson. This activity will connect

                              explored in detail.

                              The teacher monitors and guides the discussion, providing correct
