Nourish and Flourish Weight Loss Challenge
Students and Alumni Awards
Our brilliant 4th year Molecular and Medical Genetics students - Ayman Pathan, Aysha Alhosani, Haritha Pallela,
and Rahaf Herzalla secured 3rd place in the Poster Presentation Competition at the 4th UAE Anatomy and Cellular
Biology Conference, hosted by Dubai Medical University on May 10–11, 2025. Dana Aga, Nada Abdulrab, Tassnim
Amore, and Wejdan Alateh, also exceptional 4th year Molecular and Medical Genetics students, proudly won at the
12th Undergraduate Research and Innovation Competition, held on May 29th, 2025, at Abu Dhabi University! This
remarkable achievement is a testament to their hard work, scientific curiosity, and passion for discovery - hallmarks of
our thriving student community at the College of Health Sciences.
A special tribute goes to Dr. Merin Thomas, from the Department of Biomedical Sciences, whose mentorship and
unwavering guidance to both these groups of students was instrumental in shaping this research journey. Your
dedication continues to empower and inspire future scientists. We also extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Sara El
Bisari, Technical Director, NRL and National Reference Laboratory (NRL), our valued industry partner, for supporting
experiential learning and nurturing the next generation of scientists through meaningful collaborations.
