facility is designed to serve undergraduate and post-graduate programs at the college of health sciences
and will be utilized for both teaching and research purposes. The lab is designed to provide students
enrolled in the Molecular and Medical Genetics and Biomedical Sciences-Laboratory Medicine programs
with hands-on, inquiry-oriented academic/teaching experiences. The lab will introduce undergraduate
students to standard cellular, molecular, genetic and biochemical techniques. Instructors will not only be
challenged to provide students with an up-to-date foundation of knowledge but will also engage them in
the scientific process and experimental design to increase student interest in the field.
The laboratory will serve also as a research hub that provides a physical space where researchers from
different disciplines and backgrounds can come together to collaborate on cutting-edge research
projects. This promotes interdisciplinary research and allows for the exchange of ideas, expertise, and
resources. Students can also work alongside experienced faculty members, gaining hands-on experience
and mentorship.
