United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) (COP 27)
Dr. Rahaf Ajaj was nominated by the ministry of climate change and environment to join the UAE
delegations at the 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 27) in in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.
Health, Safety & Environment Forum
Dr. Rahaf Ajaj chaired the 7th Health, Safety & Environment Forum. This forum is the major meeting
place for HSE specialists in the region. The forum allowed participants to learn from the region’s major
HSE officials.

MENA Power Projects Forum
Dr. Rahaf Ajaj participated in a panel discussion on Nuclear Power in the MENA Region – Opportunities
and Challenges in the 2nd Annual MENA Power Projects Forum.
UAE Radiation Protection Week
ADU’s College of Health Sciences students in the EHS program, supervised by Dr. Rahaf Ajaj, participated
in the second UAE Radiation Protection Week. This conference is co-hosted by the Federal Authority
for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) and the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP).
The conference brings together experts in radiological protection to discuss the latest research and
developments. FANR’s efforts to incorporate our students in this event are greatly appreciated. Students
engaging in activities like these tremendously affect them and are a great source of inspiration.
