                                Tarteel Jaafar – Academic Tutor
I joined the ASC as an Academic Tutor in November 2019. I had some of the best times at the center
at Al Ain Campus. Students visited the ASC not only to ask for tutoring sessions; they came to the
center to practice before their presentations. They asked for sisterly advice, and a lot of them worked
on their projects with my assistance there. Ever since the COVID-19 situation and having to work
from home, I’ve been missing all of that. I have created special bonds with my colleagues as we
always tried our best to help students improve and grow academically. I am grateful that although
the center had to continue offering its services online, we were still able to help many more students
from both Al Ain and Abu Dhabi campuses. With much anticipation, I am looking forward to going
back to the center and meeting all our great tutors and students once again.

        Aqsa Gul – Course Assistant
I remember once when I had tutored a student for a few sessions who was weak in a course, and
then when she was done with her exam, she messaged me saying it went quite well for her. Then
when she messaged me her results (out of her own willingness), there was a feeling in my heart that
cannot be described in words- the feeling of joy and happiness that your hard work had paid off. And
it is for this feeling of joy that I have been tutoring at the ASC for more than a year now!!

Shagufta Siffat – Peer Mentor & Peer Tutor
Have you wondered if the movie “Frozen” can really be true? For those of you who may not know, it is
a story about a girl who goes above and beyond to save her sister from the villain. My personal savior
was Ms. Huda Sawafta – with her “Let It Go” approach to help me in math and pull me out of my fear
of numbers when I was overwhelmed with Numerophobia!
