One of the UAE’s top Universities, and the
leading institution for our size, for international accreditations
at institutional (WASC), college (AACSB, EQUIS) or program level
(e.g. several programs with ABET accreditation, RIBA, APHEA). The Role
Awarded QS 5* rating overall.
Additionally, awarded QS 5* for Online Learning.
As the Provost of the University, you will drive growth in numbers and enhancement of our
reputation while ensuring that the University meets its financial targets. You will have a
multifaceted role requiring engagement with the University community of students, faculty and
staff, the Board of Directors, and our external stakeholders. The Provost agrees the annual
budget and plans, establishes targets for levels of achievement, and guides and supports the
University community to achieve the agreed goals. You will take pride in leading our new
institutional strategy, marshalling resources and building alliances in pursuit of our strategic
goals. You will embody our core values, be committed to ensuring excellence in all that we do and
make collaborative working our core ethos. Key attributes of the role are outlined below:
Sets the University's academic strategy and priorities and determines the institutional
architecture for delivering outstanding taught programs with high academic integrity.
Develops and delivers a sector leading and integrated, student learning, engagement,
satisfaction, retention and employability strategy with clear goals and milestones.
Acts as a key spokesperson and advocate for the culture, values, roles, and responsibilities of
the University in and outside the University and leads the University’s efforts to enhance its
external reputation, including in league tables.
Drives accreditation with national and international institutions, including professional body
accreditations at program level.
Inculcates a culture of innovation, including technology enhanced and e-learning, in the
development of taught program portfolio, and design and delivery of programs.
Works with Director of Enrolment and other leaders to deliver targets for growth in student
numbers and necessary growth in taught programs.
Ensures that the University contributes to knowledge creation and exchange that impacts on
economy and society as well as contributing to our taught programs.
Strengthens links with corporate partners to develop joint provision, support student
Supporting Faculty, internships and enhance graduate employability.
Students and Alumni to Excel
Acts as champion of student engagement and student voice in and outside the University.
The Higher Education Academy partnered with the
University in developing our frameworks for alumni Leads and directs Deans to meet/exceed enrolment targets, retentions rates, and graduation
