About the College of Health Sciences
at Abu Dhabi University
The College of Health Sciences at Abu Dhabi University was established in 2018 to address the increasing
need for highly qualified healthcare professionals across the UAE and the region. It offers five undergraduate
programs within the allied health professions, all designed to equip graduates with strong theoretical
foundations, practical clinical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively within diverse healthcare
settings. The College aims to develop professionals capable of addressing pressing health issues,
contributing to public health advancement, and leading in medical and scientific fields. These programs
are delivered in modern facilities with state-of-the-art teaching laboratories that enhance applied learning.
In alignment with the UAE’s ambition to become a global hub for healthcare and research, the College is
also preparing to launch additional undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the near future.
Programs
The College of Health Sciences offers the following programs under three departments:
The Department of Environmental and Public Health:
• B.Sc. Public Health
• B.Sc. Environmental Health & Safety
• Masters in Public Health
The Department of Biomedical Sciences:
• B.Sc. Molecular and Medical Genetics
• B.Sc. Biomedical Sciences-Laboratory Medicine
The Department of Allied Medical Sciences:
• B.Sc. Human Nutrition and Dietetics
• B.Sc. Clinical Psychology and Mental Health
• M.Sc. Clinical Psychology and Mental Health
The programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation, UAE. Biomedical Sciences
programs are currently offered at the Abu Dhabi campus, while Environmental and Public Health, as well
as Allied Medical Sciences programs, are available in both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Each program is delivered
through a dynamic, continuously reviewed curriculum that is competency-based and aligned with the UAE
National Qualification Framework and international standards.
The curricula incorporate diverse teaching methods and emphasize experiential learning, allowing students
to develop essential clinical and soft skills. Students undertake supervised internships and practicum
placements in hospitals, medical centers, industry, and public health organizations. Research skills are
fostered through coursework, capstone projects, and undergraduate research activities. The Bachelor of
Science in Public Health is one of the few nationally and regionally offered public health degrees and is
accredited by the Agency for Public Health Education Accreditation, a leading European agency.
