Final Thoughts!

How is it going? I bet if you ask any of your friends from university this question, you will get all kinds
of complaints. But if you ask me, I would simply say it’s going great. Why? I’m doing exactly what I’m
supposed to do as a student, which is work hard and overcome the obstacles that might come on the
way, and I have nothing else to worry about. As an ADU student, I’m safe and well protected. My voice
is heard; my opinion is appreciated; I’m part of this community; and I know I’m surrounded with great
staff and faculty members who are willing to help me when I need them. I think as an ADU student,
you should take the time to count your blessings. Many students around the world don’t have what
you have! Be positive and make every day count! Before you start your journey in ADU where you will
learn, make mistakes, laugh and cry sometimes. Here is your survival kit. Trust us, you will need it:
• A map of the campus to know your way around.
• Get a watch to avoid being late.
• University ID: Make sure you have it so that you can use the facilities such as the library where
you will have to go to do your assignments.
• An external hard drive to back all the files you worked really hard on (SAVE everything you do; I
learned this the hard way.
• Get a planner, writing things down will help you be more organized.
• Coffee: You won’t survive a day without it trust me!
• Friends: Besides all the serious hard work, you need friends to make memories with.
• Lastly, dear students, the next four years are going to be unique and exceptional. Time flies, so get
yourself out there and make the most out of it!
