About the forum:
The Women in Engineering Forum 2020 is organized by the College
of Engineering at Abu Dhabi University in collaboration with fib-UAE
and in partnership with Abu Dhabi Municipality and several local and
international authorities and engineering societies. The Forum is a
platform that brings together influential women in the engineering
field to share their experience, knowledge and skills. The Forum will
discuss the main challenges facing women engineers in general, with
particular reference to the region, and propose recommendations to
take full advantage of women’s contribution to the advancement of the
profession and the community at large.

The two-day forum will include several keynote speeches and
technical presentations from international speakers, local authorities,
professional engineering societies, pioneering engineering companies
and universities. Several panel discussions will be conducted, putting
forward a road map to bridge the gender gap in various engineering
fields, and optimizing the role of female engineers in solving industrial
challenges.

This forum comes in line with the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030
of empowering women in the economy, where maximizing the
participation of women in the workforce is one of the main objectives.
This Forum builds on the success of the previous two rounds of the
fib-UAE Women in Civil Engineering Forum that were held at Abu
Dhabi University in 2018 and 2019, broadening its perspective to cover
additional engineering disciplines to reach out to a wider audience.
